I am pleased to inform you that I will drive in GP3 with the team DAMS this season.
My good lap times in Abu Dhabi with the GP3 car and also my successful tests with the Formula 3.5 V8 have impressed several teams. Thus I received a lot of good offers. Over the winter we took the time to check all possibilities precisely.
It was tempting to go to Formula 3.5 V8 because I got well used to the big car. Despite this, I decided to go to GP3, because the prospects are better. Because Renault retired from the 3.5 it looks like the grid will not be really big and strong. The GP3however promises to be highly competitive, because lot of strong drivers will participate.
Amongst others we also followed the invitation from Mr. François Sicard from Team DAMS. We already had short contact with Mr. Sicard in Abu Dhabi. Thus we were curious about the workshop visit from Team DAMS in Le Mans. They showed us everything in detail and their technical possibilities and methods are impressive. DAMS is also leading in GP2 and Formula E for years. Therefore, I think that DAMS has the best requirements to understand the new GP3 car the fastest. Also everything else has made a very good impression, and I immediately felt very comfortable.
The GP3 series takes place as a supporting programme of Formula 1 during nine race weekends. The qualifying is on Saturday morning, the first race at late Saturday afternoon and the second race on Sunday morning. Both races are broadcasted on Eurosport on Sunday morning, the first recorded and the second one live.

My next step towards F1 will be interesting for sure. With a strong field of drivers, it will be a big challenge which I am pleased to face up to. I am looking forward to an exciting season.
